Every story starts as a cast and a setting. Those are drawn once, then used as reference for every picture in the story, so the characters stay themselves from beginning to end.

The setting
A grimdark castle where four protectors uphold their harsh duties.
A vast, foreboding stone castle perched atop a jagged hill, bathed in cold grey light beneath a heavy, overcast sky. The walls are blackened with age and grime, the battlements jagged and imposing. Flickering torches cast long, sinister shadows in narrow, damp corridors. The courtyard is scarred with dark stains and shattered weaponry, while the great hall looms dimly with cracked banners and tarnished armour stands. A chill wind carries the scent of decay and iron through the cold stone halls.
