The Lost Acorns

English · level A2 · for children · 3 min read

Milo the fox ran through the forest with a happy smile. He stopped under a big oak tree. There were many acorns on the ground. Milo called his friends to share the news.

Tara the owl flew down with a soft sound. 'Look at all these acorns,' she said with joy. Bram the badger walked slowly to them. He liked the quiet forest and the fresh air.

Lily the squirrel jumped from tree to tree. She found more acorns in the branches. The friends gathered together in a bright clearing. The forest was full of acorns everywhere.

Milo looked around and frowned with worry. "The acorns are not here today," he said quietly. Tara flapped her wings and flew higher to see better. "I don't see any acorns in the trees either," she added.

Bram scratched his head and looked under the bushes. "Maybe the squirrels came early and took them all," he guessed. Lily ran here and there, her eyes wide with surprise. "But there are no acorns in the usual spots at all!"

The friends felt confused and a little scared. Milo said, "We must find out where the acorns have gone." Tara nodded and said, "Let's search the whole forest together." They began to walk slowly, looking carefully on the ground.

Milo looked under the big oak tree and found nothing there. Tara flew low over the bushes but saw no acorns anywhere. Bram checked the hollow log and sighed, "It's empty too." Lily ran around the clearing but her basket was still light.

The friends felt tired and a little sad. Milo said, "Where can the acorns be? We looked everywhere." Tara sat on a branch and thought hard. Bram rubbed his head, looking for an answer.

Lily stopped and whispered, "Maybe we missed a place." Milo nodded and said, "Let's rest a moment and then try again." The trees swayed softly in the quiet forest. The friends were ready to keep searching despite their tiredness.

Tara looks at her friends with bright eyes. "I have an idea," she says. "Maybe the acorns fell near the river. We can check there!"

Milo smiles and nods quickly. "Good plan, Tara! Let's go together," he says. Bram and Lily hop happily to follow.

They walk through the green forest and hear the water. The river shines in the sunlight. Near the riverbank, they see little brown things on the ground. The acorns! They found the missing acorns!

Lily picks up some acorns with a big smile. "Look! So many!" she says. Bram helps gather more. Everyone feels happy and hopeful again.

Milo, Tara, Bram, and Lily start to collect the acorns near the river. They work together and fill their baskets quickly. The sun shines warmly above them as they gather more and more acorns. Everyone feels happy to see the forest full of food again.

Bram smiles and says, "We did it together!" Lily dances around, playing with the acorns in her paws. Tara looks up at the trees and feels proud of her friends. Milo counts the acorns and nods with a big grin.

The friends sit on the soft grass to rest a little. They talk about their adventure and how they helped each other. The forest feels calm and safe again with all the acorns back. Together, they know they can solve any problem that comes.
