Production notes
Every story starts as a cast and a setting. Those are drawn once, then used as reference for every picture in the story, so the characters stay themselves from beginning to end.
The cast
タヌキ a clever forest trickster

The setting
An ancient woodland glowing with dappled sunlight and vibrant life.
A dense, ancient woodland bathed in dappled sunlight filtering through towering emerald-green leaves, with gnarled trees and soft moss-covered ground blanketing the forest floor in shades of deep brown and vibrant green. Scattered wildflowers add bright spots of colour, and shafts of golden light pierce the canopy, creating a magical and serene atmosphere. The scale is intimate yet expansive, inviting exploration among roots and branches, while shadows hint at unseen depths and mysteries.
